Inspired by the history

Evolving my authentic style, I have been playing a bit with historical styles. My favorites are the late gothic or the early northern renaissance. I adore the Victorian style and the New Classic too.
I don’t feel inspired by Baroque or Rococo. I like them, but this is just not me.

It is vital to use it as inspiration only, and not to copy all the details. We don’t want to look like one of the museum exhibits. But I guess this is obvious 🙂

The historical styles is not the direction I go very often, but as someone who loves history, I could not avoid getting encouraged and motivated to give my outfits a touch of history from here and there. Autumn is the perfect time for that.

In this post, I gave some examples of how the current designers use historical styles in their collections.
